The Military Museum of Giannitsa is located on the ground floor of the building of the Officers’ Club of Giannitsa, on the main pedestrian street of the city. It started its operation on 21 December 2011, and was inaugurated a few months later, on 28 February 2012. Its halls represent the Macedonian Struggle in the swamp of Giannitsa (1904-1908) and the Balkan Wars (1912-1913), historical events that left their imprint on the region of Pella and Giannitsa. In particular, there are presented the allies and opposing armies of the Balkan Wars (Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia and Montenegro and the Ottoman State). Through a variety of objects (uniforms, medals, photographs, postcards) combined with human effigies and 3D reconstructions, visitor obtains an overview of the war (military equipment, deployment of forces, battlefields) and its consequences in the post-Ottoman Balkans. The artifacts were donated by the War Museum of Athens and Col. Basil Nikoltsios. After the completion of the tour, visitors can watch a related documentary.
