The statue of Philip II was made by the sculptor Efthymios Kalevras and sponsored by the Historical and Folklore Society of Giannitsa “Philip”. It is made of brass and is 4 metres high. Next to the statue a 4 m long bronze relief with ancient Macedonian horsemen on horseback and a section of the Macedonian Phalanx was erected. The unveiling was performed by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew on 15 September 2005.
